Lymphoedema Physiotherapy

Lymphoedema is a build-up of fluid that results in swelling in one or more body parts. There are many reasons why someone might develop lymphoedema, but it’s usually due to damage to the lymphatic system, or when the lymphatic system isn’t working the way it should.

Early intervention is key in the treatment of lymphoedema, so if you’re concerned, please feel free to contact us, or book an appointment to have it assessed by a qualified Lymphoedema practitioner.

Kirrienne

Physiotherapist & Lymphoedema Practitioner

Kirrienne is a qualified Physiotherapist and accredited lymphoedema practitioner. She began her career as a remedial massage therapist 13 years ago before realising she wanted to be able to do more for her clients, leading to the decision to go back to university to study Physiotherapy.

Graduating in 2020, Kirrienne was naturally drawn to the specialty of Lymphoedema, having learned about lymph drainage during her years as a massage therapist. She pursued her Level 1 training and is just about to finish Level 2. She has been working in the Lymphoedema program at Grampians health, both in outpatient services and more recently at the Ballarat Regional Integrated Cancer Centre.

She is very passionate about lymphoedema and oncology rehabilitation, particularly creating awareness about the importance of early intervention.
